A focus session is a block of time you set aside for one thing. Start one in SuperchargeFocus and your rules take effect at once. The sites you named open to a block card until the session ends.
It runs in Chrome and Edge. Open the panel with the toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+B.
Starting a Session
The panel offers three tiles:
| Tile | Length |
|---|---|
| 25 | 25 minutes |
| 50 | 50 minutes |
| Custom | Any length from 1 to 1440 minutes |
Click a tile and the session starts. A session needs at least one focus rule, so the tiles wait until your block list or allow list has an entry.
While a Session Runs
The panel shows Session active and Focus until with the end time. Your rules apply in every window and tab:
- In block list mode, the sites you listed open to the block card.
- In allow list mode, every site except the ones you listed opens to the block card.
- Path exceptions you added stay open.
The block card names the site and the reason, so a reflexive click turns into a choice.
Breaks
Click Take a break and pick 5 or 15 minutes. Every restriction pauses, daily allowances included, and returns when the break ends. The session clock keeps running.
To keep breaks short across a whole day, set a daily break budget from 0 to 240 minutes. When the budget is spent, no more breaks can start until tomorrow.
Ending a Session
The session ends on its own at the time shown. End session stops it early. Both options stay available in strict mode: strict changes what the block card offers, not your control over the panel.
Sessions vs Recurring Focus
A session is a one-off you start by hand. If the same hours repeat every workday, set recurring focus instead. Both use the same rules, and a manual session works on top of a schedule.
Setup in Three Steps
The first time you open the panel, a three-step setup asks:
- What pulls you away? One-tap chips for YouTube, Reddit, X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, or type your own.
- What should happen? A daily allowance for those sites, or a block during focus sessions only.
- Look and feel. Optional: Auto, Light or Dark pages.
You can change every answer later from the panel, including gentle or strict blocking.
