Hide Elements on Websites: Point and Click in Chrome and Edge
Hide a sidebar, a feed or a popup on any site you choose. Pick it with the mouse or type a request, preview, then save for the site or one page.
Updated
Describe a change, like "hide comments". Matches are previewed before saving.
Get the weekly letter
Hide just this element. Save for this page or the whole site.
Blocking a whole site is sometimes too much. You need the site, just not the trending sidebar, the comment section or the recommendation strip that keeps pulling your attention away. SuperchargeFocus lets you hide those parts and keep the rest.
It runs in Chrome and Edge, with no account.
Three Ways to Hide Something
Make This Page Calmer
The panel shows quick chips for the common cases. On YouTube that includes Watch intentionally, covered in detail on the YouTube distractions page.
Pick an Element
Choose the picker, move the mouse over the page, and the element under the cursor is outlined. The keyboard refines the selection:
| Key | Moves the selection to |
|---|---|
| ↑ | The parent element |
| ↓ | The first selectable child |
| ← / → | The previous or next sibling |
| Enter | Preview the change |
| Esc | Cancel |
When a pick can only be described by its position on the page, SuperchargeFocus also records the element’s text and checks it before hiding. If the page layout shifts later, the rule does not hide the wrong thing.
Type a Request
Describe the change in a few words:
hide comments, hide shortsorhide recommendationshide "Trending now"to hide small sections containing that exact texthide .sidebarto hide elements matching a CSS selector
Requests are read by a small parser on your device. Every match is previewed before saving, so nothing changes until you confirm.
Site or Page
Each change is saved with a scope:
- This site applies across the whole site.
- This page applies to that one address only.
You can keep up to 200 saved changes. Remove one from the panel and the element returns at once.
Hidden, Not Deleted
Page changes hide elements in your browser. The site itself is not modified, other people see the normal page, and nothing is sent anywhere. Hidden elements stay hidden after reloads and on later visits until you remove the change.
When to Block Instead
If a site has nothing you need during work hours, a page change is the wrong tool. Put it on your block list instead.
