Dark Mode for Websites: Per-Site Themes in Chrome and Edge
Light, Auto or Dark for websites, with a per-site choice that sticks. Uses a site's own dark theme first and protects photos and video.

Some sites ship a good dark theme. Many ship none, and a few hide theirs behind an account setting. SuperchargeFocus gives every site you visit a Light, Auto or Dark appearance from one switch, and lets any site keep its own choice.
It runs in Chrome and Edge, with no account.
The Global Switch
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Light | Sites keep their light appearance |
| Auto | Follows your system light or dark setting |
| Dark | Sites switch to a dark appearance |
The Site’s Own Dark Theme Comes First
When a page goes dark, SuperchargeFocus first asks the site for the dark theme it already has. That includes sites that pick their theme on the server: the extension sends the standard color-scheme hint so the server returns its dark page. Only when a site has no dark theme does SuperchargeFocus generate one.
Per-Site Themes
Open the panel on any site and pick its theme:
- Use global follows the global switch.
- Light keeps this site light, even when the global switch says Dark.
- Dark keeps this site dark, even when the global switch says Light.
The choice is remembered for up to 500 sites and stays put when you change the global setting.
Protections, On by Default
Two settings keep dark mode from doing damage:
- Keep native dark pages. A site that is already dark is left alone.
- Protect photos and video. Images and video keep their real colors.
You can turn either off for a single site from the panel.
Show Original
If a site looks wrong, Show original turns off the theme, the night tint and the dimming on that site in one click. Everything else keeps working, and you can switch it back at any time.
Reading Comfort Per Site
Each site can also use a reading setting: Standard, Larger text or Higher contrast. It applies on that site only.
Light and Dark on a Schedule
Set a schedule and pages turn dark during the hours you choose and light outside them. Pick fixed hours or Sunset to sunrise, shift both edges by up to 120 minutes, and choose the days. Sunset and sunrise are worked out on your device from a location you type in. The extension never requests your location.
Per-site choices stay in force while the schedule runs. Changing the theme by hand turns the schedule off, so a manual choice is never overridden a minute later.
Website Content Only
The theme applies to web pages. The browser’s own tabs, toolbar and settings pages are not changed. For a warm overlay on top of the theme, see night tint.
