Pause Keyboard Shortcuts per Site — Chrome Extension
SuperchargeNavigation pauses its own keyboard shortcuts per hostname. Free, site-specific, and it only touches this extension's keystroke handling.
Updated
SuperchargeNavigation’s per-site pause resolves that: on any hostname you list, the extension’s keystroke handling is suppressed and your shortcuts go to the app. It is free, and it only touches this extension’s own handling. Web apps live on the keyboard. A code editor, a design tool or an email client that owns its own shortcuts will collide with an extension that also listens for keys.
What This Pause Does
SuperchargeNavigation can be paused individually per site. If the current hostname is on its pause list, the extension’s keystroke handling is suppressed there, so its shortcuts do not fire on that site while the rest of the web keeps working.
Setup in Three Steps
- Install SuperchargeNavigation.
- Open the site whose shortcuts you want to pause.
- Turn the site’s pause on, and the extension’s keystroke handling stops on that hostname.
What It Controls
The pause covers the extension’s own keyboard-driven behavior on the page. It does not stop every service the extension has, and it does not touch any other extension or Chrome’s own handling of keys.
How It Differs From Performance’s Site Whitelist
SuperchargePerformance has its own site list. Adding a site there applies a full bypass of that extension’s features by default, and the popup’s per-site toggle reloads the tab. SuperchargeNavigation’s pause is narrower. It only suppresses this extension’s keystroke handling on one hostname, leaves the extension installed, and does not remove any Chrome permission. Neither list disables anything outside its own extension.
Permissions, Privacy and Compatibility
SuperchargeNavigation declares the tabs, tabGroups, sidePanel, storage, unlimitedStorage, alarms, scripting, declarativeNetRequest, declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess, sessions, bookmarks, history, management and search permissions, plus host access to all URLs. It sends no usage analytics or telemetry, and nothing about your browsing goes to our servers or a third-party analytics service.
