You reach the Partizion pricing page and see Starter, Pro, and a beta lock-in offer, with nothing free. The 14-day trial ends, and you face a fork: take the paid plan, or the account closes and the server data is deleted 14 days later. SuperchargeNavigation is free, needs no account, and keeps workspaces in your Chrome profile.

  • Partizion auto-saves collections when tabs open or close and can restore them from any browser, with encryption, auto-delete settings, or full sync disable.
  • SuperchargeNavigation keeps workspaces in local storage, syncs them through Chrome profile sync on fresh installs, and adds snapshots, search, grouping, dedupe, freeze, and bulk actions.
  • Choose by restore scope: cross-browser or cross-machine sessions fit Partizion; one Chrome profile with no subscription fits the local option.

Partizion: cloud restore across machines

Your tabs live on a laptop and a desktop that do not share one Chrome profile, and you want the same collection back on both. Partizion stores collections in an account-backed cloud. Its auto-updating collections save tabs when they open or close, and the same session can come back from another browser.

The store listing shows 4.2 from 142 ratings, 2,000 users, a Featured badge, and publisher MBF Technologies. The latest store update was January 18, 2026 (7 months before this article’s August 2026 publication).

Partizion also exposes privacy controls: encryption, auto-delete settings, or complete sync disable. Its no-free-plan position is stated plainly: paying users support the product, and it does not sell or share data.

Best for: choose Partizion when you need cross-browser cloud restore, team pricing, auto-updating collections, or Kanban and Grid views.

SuperchargeNavigation: local workspaces and built-in utilities

SuperchargeNavigation stores each workspace in Chrome local storage. A workspace captures tabs, URLs, pinned, muted, and frozen state, plus group membership, title, colour, and collapsed state. Restoring one rebuilds the tab groups and the tab list.

Cross-device sync is on for fresh installs. It uses chrome.storage.sync, so it rides the Chrome profile you already use, without a separate account or vendor server. The sync path compresses and chunks workspace data, capped at 13 chunks and 100 writes/minute. Turn it off on one device, and that state persists across Chrome restarts. When another browser must restore the same tabs, Partizion’s cloud restore fits better.

Time-Travel is already on when you install it. It keeps a ring buffer of 50 snapshots, takes one every 5 minutes, and also triggers on a 2+ tab close burst with a 10-second debounce. A snapshot is written only when the total tab count changed. Restoring one creates a new workspace.

Quick Search is enabled by default. The suggested Alt+K key opens a global overlay that lists tabs with favicon and group colour, with a web-search fallback. The side panel filters title and URL. Smart grouping uses the suggested Alt+G key to group unpinned tabs by registrable domain where a domain has 2+ tabs, titles each group by domain, and collapses it. Alt+Shift+G degroups them. Frozen tabs are skipped.

Tab de-duplication runs by default. Navigating to a URL that is already open raises an in-page prompt to switch to the existing tab and close the duplicate. The prompt auto-dismisses after 10 seconds.

Tab freeze keeps chosen tabs out of grouping operations. Multi-select drives bulk pin, mute, group, freeze, and close actions. Glance previews a link on Shift+click, and it is on by default.

These shortcuts are Chrome-suggested keys, so Chrome may drop one that collides with another extension, and you can rebind them.

Best for: choose SuperchargeNavigation when your tabs stay in one Chrome profile and you want free local workspaces with snapshots, search, grouping, and bulk actions.

Which one should you choose

Choose Partizion when your work crosses browsers or machines that do not share one Chrome profile, when you want team pricing, auto-updating collections, or Kanban and Grid views.

Choose SuperchargeNavigation when your tabs live in one Chrome profile and you want free local workspaces with snapshots, search, grouping, and bulk actions.

If the split is cross-browser restore, go to Partizion. If the split is one profile and no subscription, install the local workspace switcher.
