Save Your Own EQ Presets

Audio v1.0.5

You can now save an equalizer curve you like as a named preset and reuse it anywhere, instead of re-dragging ten sliders. Smart Mute starts off instead of on, so a fresh install won't silence your background music the moment you switch tabs — and it no longer touches mutes it didn't set itself. The master off switch reaches every open tab at once, and the toolbar badge only shows a boost that's actually playing.

  • Save an EQ curve you like as a named preset and reuse it anywhere, instead of re-dragging ten sliders each time
  • Smart Mute now ships off by default — new installs turn it on themselves in the popup; if you already had it on, it stays on
  • Smart Mute no longer clears mutes you or another extension set — it only manages tabs it muted itself
  • Turning the extension off now releases every open tab at once, not just the one you're looking at
  • The toolbar badge now shows a boost that's actually running, not just what your settings say

Custom EQ Presets

You can save an equalizer curve you like, give it a name, and apply it again later instead of re-dragging all ten sliders every time. Deleting a preset also no longer leaves a site’s dropdown pointing at nothing.

Smart Mute Starts Off

New installs no longer have Smart Mute running from the moment you install the extension. It used to be on by default, and since it mutes background tabs that are playing audio, some people found their music going silent the instant they switched tabs. It’s now off until you turn it on yourself in the popup — one click. If you already had it switched on, nothing changes for you; it stays on.

Smart Mute No Longer Touches Mutes It Didn’t Set

If you’d muted a tab yourself with Chrome’s own “Mute site,” or another extension had muted it, Smart Mute could mistake that for a mute of its own and clear it later. It now only manages tabs it muted itself, and leaves anything else alone.

Turning the Extension Off Now Covers Every Tab

Flipping the master switch off used to only reset the tab you had open at the time. Every other tab kept being processed until you reloaded it. Switching off now releases every tab at once, and switching back on restores them the same way.

A Badge That Matches Reality

The toolbar badge shows how much boost is currently applied. It used to read straight from your saved settings without checking whether that boost was actually going through — so on a site with protected playback, it could show a boost percentage that wasn’t really happening. It now checks first, everywhere it’s drawn. One thing worth knowing: right after you un-pause a boosted tab, the badge can briefly show the plain icon before it catches up.

A Tidier Popup

A few small popup fixes ship in this release: the equalizer no longer paints over its divider, hidden tooltips no longer stretch the popup wider, and the Saved Sites header lines up with the sections around it.

What Carries Over

No new permissions. No listing changes. Everything else — the soft limiter, smooth volume and EQ ramps, the 8D spatial effect, channel switching, and protected-stream capture — comes straight across from 1.0.4.
