A raw screen recording is rarely the thing you want to send. SuperchargeCapture's video editor ships three named presets, so a fresh take has somewhere to start before you export it.

## What Editor Presets Do

SuperchargeCapture is the free SuperchargeBrowser extension for screen recording and screenshots, and it has no paid tier. You select a preset in the editor before exporting.

## Setup in Three Steps

1. Record a tab, window, or screen with SuperchargeCapture, or open an existing recording from the local library.
2. Open the recording in the editor and select a preset: Clean, Cinematic, or Tutorial.
3. Export. WebM is always available, MP4 appears when the browser can encode it, and GIF is the third format.

## What It Controls

Each preset is a batch of effect settings, applied over the editor's current options in one step:

- **Clean** turns off auto-zoom, click ripples, spotlight, and on-screen keystrokes, and sits the video on a dark grey background with narrow padding and a faint shadow.
- **Cinematic** turns on auto-zoom and smooths the cursor, on a dark amber background with wide padding and a deep soft shadow.
- **Tutorial** turns on auto-zoom, click ripples, and on-screen keystrokes, on a plain solid background with medium padding and a light shadow.

A preset only changes the settings it lists; everything else you have set in the editor is preserved. Each preset also carries a one-line description in the editor, shown as a tooltip, so you know what it changes before you pick it.

## How It Differs From the Export Format Choice

A preset and a format answer different questions. A preset is a look you start from in the editor; the format is the container the export is written to. Clean, Cinematic, and Tutorial do not choose WebM, MP4, or GIF for you: you select the format at export time. MP4 appears only when your browser can encode it, while WebM and GIF are always there.

## Permissions, Privacy and Compatibility

SuperchargeCapture's permission list is activeTab, storage, tabs, tabCapture, offscreen, scripting, unlimitedStorage, and the identity permission that the optional Google Drive share uses. An optional host permission for all URLs is requested only if you enable cross-site recording. Editing and exporting run on your device: recordings and screenshots live in the browser's local storage, and the only data path off the machine is the optional, user-initiated Drive share of your own export. The extension sends no usage analytics or telemetry.
